The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) hosted the 2019 SITC Cancer Immunotherapy Winter School, a comprehensive cancer immunotherapy education program on February 18-22, 2019. Program Summary

The SITC Cancer Immunotherapy Winter School is a comprehensive cancer immunotherapy program, taught by leading experts, which provides a deep understanding of the core principles of tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy as well as developing areas in the field including biomarker technology, validation and clinical integration; clinical trial design, data analysis, and considerations for combination therapies; and effectively writing grants to successfully obtain research funding.

This program was designed to instruct researchers and clinicians to advance scientific discoveries and clinical applications of tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy. Over the course of five days, attendees first learned the fundamentals in the field and then tailored their educational experience by selecting the track most relevant to their individual needs. The program fostered professional development by facilitating student interaction with faculty and thought leaders in cancer immunotherapy in an intimate setting.
