Sean Judge, MD, MS, is a fifth-year resident in the Department of Surgery at the University of California, Davis. He is currently completing a two-year post-doctoral research fellowship in the Laboratory of Cancer Immunology under the mentorship of William Murphy, PhD and Robert Canter, MD. His research investigates mechanisms of NK cell dysfunction and immunoregulation in viral and tumor models and across multiple species with a particular focus on the changes in NK cell phenotype and function that occur during highly activating conditions such as after cytokine exposure and viral infections, and how these changes can be modified for a therapeutic, anti-tumor benefit.

Dr. Judge completed his MS in molecular biology at the University of San Francisco before obtaining his medical degree at Creighton University School of Medicine, graduating cum laude with election to AOA honor society. Following completion of general surgery training, he will be pursuing fellowship training in Surgical Oncology. His career goal is an academic career in Surgical Oncology and Hepatobiliary Surgery with a research focus on immunotherapy for malignant liver tumors.
