Proof of Vaccination Required

At SITC 2021, our goal is to have a safe and meaningful conference. To help manage the safety of all attending, proof of full vaccination for COVID-19 will be required for all in-person meeting attendees. We are currently assessing solutions for validating vaccination status and that information will be communicated soon.


Meeting and Headquarter Hotels

SITC 2021 will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., while Pre-Conference Programs will be held at the connected, Marriott Marquis Washington, DC hotel.  Housing will be available at two headquartered hotels.

Reserve a Room

All individuals must be registered for the 2021 SITC Annual Meeting and/or a SITC 2021 Pre-Conference Program before reserving a hotel room. To register for the meeting and then reserve a hotel room, please visit the registration page. Hotel reservation information will be provided in the meeting registration confirmation email. 


Hotel Reservation Cancellation Deadline

  • 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival date.

  • Cancelling your reservation less than 72 hours prior to your arrival date will result in a cancellation fee equal to the daily room rate plus tax.

SITC Standard Rate: $299.00 per night*

SITC Student Rate: $199.00 per night*

Important Housing Notice

Third-party companies have been inaccurately representing themselves as a SITC housing vendor. SITC does not partner with third-party housing vendors. Reservations for SITC 2021 should be made with the information received in your conference registration confirmation email. SITC is not responsible for other means of reservation. Should you provide your credit card information to an unauthorized third-party company, your card may be charged, but you may not have a reservation when you arrive at the hotel.


Student Housing

SITC has a limited number of discounted rooms available at the Marriott Marquis for postdoctoral fellows and students ($199/night, not including taxes/fees). Reservations are based upon a first-come, first-served basis to students. One room reservation per student. Room reservations are non-transferable. Individuals are responsible for all of their room charges and fees.

Individuals must be registered as a student for the 2021 SITC Annual Meeting and/or a SITC 2021 Pre-Conference Program before, or at the time of submitting a hotel reservation form to be considered for a student room.

Washington D.C. - City Information 

The capital of the United States, Washington D.C,. is brimming with museums, monuments, arts and culture. Some of the nation’s most prominent icons, including the Capitol, White House, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial are located within walking distance of the Convention Center and headquarter hotels.

The average temperature in Washington D.C. in November ranges between 50–60 degrees Fahrenheit. Washington D.C. averages approximately three inches of precipitation in November.

Three airports serve the Washington D.C. area:

Taxis & Ridesharing

Taxi stands are located at all the major airports as well as most hotels, attractions and shopping centers. From Ronald Reagan National Airport to the Marriott Marquis, fares are approximately $23*. From Washington Dulles International Airport, the fare is approximately $67* to the hotel. From Baltimore Washington International Airport, expect to pay $121*. Metro

The Convention Center is located on the Yellow/Green line at Mt. Vernon Square/7th Street. The Metro train operates Monday through Sunday at varying hours. Base fares start at $2.00* per trip. Visit wmata.com for a schedule and a map.

Shuttle
The Marriott Marquis and Renaissance Hotel do not offer shuttle service. Parking at the Marriott Marquis is $61 daily. Parking at the Renaissance Hotel is $35 daily. There are more than 3,000 parking spaces in a three-block radius of the convention center and headquarter hotels. Parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. See parking map. Pre-paid, guaranteed parking is also available through Parking Panda. Once purchased, parking is 100% guaranteed even if the location otherwise fills up. Simply present purchase confirmation at the selected location and this serves as payment with no additional payments or fees ever. Parking availability is very limited, so it is strongly recommended to purchase parking in advance, if driving. *Fares are approximate and subject to change.
