Margolin, MD - City of Hope Cancer CenterProgram SummaryThe Primer on Tumor Immunology and Biological Therapy of Cancer presents an overview of immunology as it applies to cancer therapy and seeks to educate students, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty as to the current of the fields, the biologic underpinnings, and the ongoing clinical trials of biological therapy and tumor immunology. Attendees will learn about the most recent advances in cancer vaccines, vaccine adjuvants, host-tumor interactions, and the role of danger in in vivo immunity. Additional topics to be updated in the Primer will be T cell therapy, antibody therapy, cytokine therapy, and the principles of angiogenesis and its relationship to the tumor immunologic milieu. Intended AudienceThe intended audience for the Primer is basic and clinical investigators from academic, regulatory, and biopharmaceutical venues. The audience includes clinicians, post-doctoral fellows, students, and allied health professionals.
