Immuno-Oncology Biomarkers: State of the Art

Starts:  May 16, 2018 08:00 (PT)
Ends:  May 17, 2018 17:00 (PT)

Workshop Overview Leadership Hotel and Travel Program Agenda

Program Purpose

The Immuno-Oncology Biomarkers Workshop will identify the next steps for action in immunotherapy biomarker development. It will provide a forum for energetic discussion about the collaborative efforts across several societies and consortia, make progress on identification and analysis of novel biomarkers, and tackle data analysis and specimen sharing. The final session will bring together representatives from the fields of immune-oncology research, infectious disease, autoimmune disease and cell biology to discuss opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration to advance biomarker development.

Panel discussions following each didactic presentation will allow all participants to contribute to the conversation, and to shape the innovative collaborations, next projects and other outputs that the SITC Immune Biomarkers Committee will incorporate over the next several years.

Intended Audience
The target audience for this program includes a broad representation from academia, biotech, pharma, government, researchers and early career individuals who wish to understand the biomarkers state of the art, discuss current hurdles to further success, and consider recommendations to move the field forward.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this meeting, participants will be able to:
- Discuss methods of validation of biomarkers to predict response to immunotherapy in cancer
- Describe effective approaches for data and specimen sharing related to biomarkers
- Describe how to collaborate across disciplines in order to advance biomarker research
- Describe existing processes and standards of practice regarding obtaining and processing biospecimens
