A Message from the President

We are eagerly anticipating the 39th Annual Meeting & Pre-Conference Programs, taking place Nov. 6–10 in Houston, TX and virtually. We saw a healthy number of abstracts submitted, over 1,500, and recently announced abstract titles and authors. While abstracts will highlight cutting-edge science from tumor immunology and cancer immunotherapy as a whole, standout categories for this year’s meeting are cellular therapies and biomarkers, immune monitoring and novel technologies. Additionally, we look forward to the upcoming announcement of Late-breaking Abstracts – Clinical Only (LBAs) titles and authors on Oct. 30 at 9 a.m. EDT. These abstracts contain late-breaking data from interventional clinical trials in humans and represent important steps toward our #SITCquestfor100.
I am keen to read the full abstracts when they are released and visit the poster hall to connect with presenters about their latest science and research. If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time! Hear why SITC 2024 is the place to advance cancer immunotherapy further.
As always, a highly anticipated meeting program is the Hot Topic Symposium, taking place on the final day of SITC 2024. “AI in Discovery,” chaired by Riyue Bao, PhD, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and Ira Mellman, PhD, Genentech, will explore cutting-edge AI-driven solutions and innovations to improve patient outcomes, streamline clinical workflows, and as a tool to assist in the discovery of new therapeutics. Three invited talks from leading experts in academic biomedical centers and industry will be featured, followed by an in-depth panel discussion addressing critical challenges and proposing solutions for implementing AI practices effectively and realistically hoping to shape the future of immunotherapy.
Please be sure to visit the SITC booth during the Annual Meeting to join SITC!
I look forward to seeing you soon in Houston.
