Chiles Research Institute Program SummaryGenerating a successful T cell-mediated, anti-tumor response is a multistep process, and one with diverse challenges. Understanding ways to optimize T cell function and overcome various inhibitory mechanisms inherent in the immune response and within the tumor microenvironment is imperative for generating improved longer-lasting therapies. This session at the SITC 30th Anniversary Annual Meeting on Friday, November 6, 2015 in National Harbor, MD covered some of the newest insights into the cellular and molecular regulators of T cell immunity, and how these can impact tumor clearance. About the SITC 30th Anniversary Annual MeetingSITC's 30th Anniversary Annual Meeting provided a multidisciplinary educational and interactive environment focused on improving the outcome for current and future patients with cancer by incorporating strategies based on basic and applied cancer immunotherapy research. The meeting consisted of cutting-edge research presentations by experts in the field, oral and poster abstract presentations and ample opportunity for both structured and informal discussions including important networking opportunities. In addition, the meeting included updates on major national and international initiatives coming from academia, government and industry, as well as ongoing SITC projects. Target AudienceThe target audience for this program included basic and clinical investigators from academic institutions, industry and regulatory agencies, including clinicians, researchers, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and allied health professionals involved in cancer research as well as pharmacists and payers that wished to learn more about cancer immunology and immunotherapy and its incorporation into current (and future) effective cancer treatment. #AnnualMeeting #2015 #Melanoma #OvarianCancer #PresentationSlides #SITC#AdoptiveCellTherapy #Cytokines #Ipilimumab #Clinician #Industry #Oncologist #Researcher
