Chiles Research InstituteProgram SummaryThis session at the 29th Annual Meeting on November 7, 2014 in National Harbor, MD covered the converging roles of inflammation, innate immunity and the microbiome in shaping immune responses (both adapative and innate)and how this can impact anti-tumor immunity. Emphasis was on recent advances in natural killer (NK) cell biology and responses as well as interactions with other immune cell-types. The impact of innate responses on cancer treatments, such as hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), was also covered. Finally, the emerging appreciation of the microbiome on immune and inflammatory responses was also discussed. About the SITC 29th Annual MeetingThe SITC 29th Annual Meeting provided a multidisciplinary educational and interactive environment focused on improving outcomes for current and future patients with cancer by incorporating strategies based on basic and applied cancer immunotherapy. The meeting consisted of cutting-edge research presentations by experts in the field, oral and poster abstract presentations, and ample opportunities for structured and informal discussions, including important networking opportunities. In addition, the meeting included updates on major national and international initiatives coming from academia, government and industry, as well as important society projects. #ClinicalTrials #HematologicMalignancies #PresentationSlides #Video #AnnualMeeting #SITC #Cytokines #Clinician #Industry #Oncologist #Researcher #2014
