JITC Peer Review Mentorship Program
JITC's Peer Review Mentorship Program pairs young researchers with senior leaders who help provide important education and guidance on scientific manuscript peer review, either one-on-one or in small groups. Early career professionals with limited peer reviewing experience are encouraged to apply to be a mentee. A limited number of successful applicants will be selected to participate in the 2026 program, April-December.
Ideal mentee candidates will have:
- Authorship experience of 1-4 articles, particularly as first, second or last author, in journals relevant to reviewing for JITC
- Reviewer experience of 1-5 years, either independently or with their PI
Mentees who complete the program will:
- Learn how to identify key components of manuscripts and provide thorough, critical evaluations
- Improve their writing skills that will strengthen their own future manuscripts
- Establish personal and professional relationships through networking opportunities
