Guideline Education

SITC is pleased to offer companion education resources in support of the acute leukemia CPG. These activities feature faculty comprised of the guideline Expert Panel and are designed to provide a deeper understanding of the recommendations in the SITC guidelines and how to apply them in various clinical scenarios.  The education available features both webinars that take a deeper look at the guideline recommendations and mini-module videos on a specific topic within the guideline content. Below is a list of the available educational resources for this CPG, available free and on-demand.

Webinars:

• Immunotherapy for the Treatment of Acute Leukemia
  
  • This one hour on-demand webinar features members of the guideline Expert Panel. These faculty members provide an overview of the published guideline and highlight selected recommendations that are applicable to some of the most common scenarios clinicians may encounter while treating their patients with immunotherapy. 

• Case Studies in Immunotherapy for the Treatment of Acute Leukemia
  
  • This one hour on-demand webinar features members of the guideline Expert Panel. These faculty members discuss case studies that illustrate execution of SITC guideline recommendations, as well as discussion on difficult topics related to case management. 

Mini-Modules:

• Antibody-Drug Conjugates
  
  • Features a case presentation of an acute myeloid leukemia patient treated with antibody-drug conjugates. Also describes the clinical data that lead to the FDA approval of gemtuzumab for treating AML. Additional considerations including potential toxicities and adverse events are also discussed. 

• CAR T Cell Therapy for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in Adults
  
  • Features a case presentation of a patient with relapsed/refractory acute lymphocytic leukemia (R/R ALL). This presentation includes past options for treating R/R ALL, clinical data supporting the recent approval of CAR T-cell therapy for treating R/R ALL, and the management of adverse events associated wi th CAR T-cell therapy. Includes a discussion regarding alternate approaches and additional considerations when treating patients with R/R ALL.

• Sequencing Therapies for Acute Leukemia
  • Summarizes the sequencing of therapies when treating acute leukemia, with an emphasis on acute lymphocytic leukemia. Data from clinical trials that contributed to the development of the guidelines are discussed, as well as emerging results from ongoing trials. The role of hematopoietic cell transplant in the context of immunotherapy is also addressed.
