Twenty-nine young investigators were chosen to participate in the inaugural Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) Sparkathon.
The 29 early career scientists, also known as the 2017 Cohort, provide a large swathe of expertise and represent numerous academic and medical institutions. They convened during a two-day retreat in Chicago on Aug. 28-29, 2017, engaging these experts in a 12- to 18-month program during which they will seek to collaboratively solve these major issues.
On Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, SITC announced the creation of two SITC Sparkathon projects that emerged from the two-day retreat. The 2017 Cohort divided into two teams to implement these two innovative projects, which aim to tackle major challenges facing the field.
The following young investigators will participate in the 2017 SITC Sparkathon Cohort. The group will present their findings during the 33rd Annual Meeting & Pre-Conference Programs in November 2018.
