New Interactive Tools for SITC’s Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer and Lung Cancer & Mesothelioma Guidelines

New interactive tools have been developed and integrated into the SITC CPG Mobile App for two of SITC’s guidelines that published in 2022.  An overview of the guideline content as well as a highlight of the new tools and resources are outlined below.

SITC’s Nonmelanoma Skin Cancer Immunotherapy Clinical Practice Guideline
SITC’s nonmelanoma skin cancer CPG is the definitive source for expert panel recommendations on the use of immunotherapy for the treatment of Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC), basal cell carcinoma (BCC), and other rare subtypes, as well as biomarker testing, treatment selection, treatment of underrepresented patient populations, and quality of life considerations. New features in the app content include:

  • An interactive immunotherapy treatment algorithm with available immunotherapy agents for MCC, CSCC, and BCC
  • Interactive tools for MCC and CSCC staging
  • Information on guideline-focused education including live and on-demand webinars

 SITC’s Lung Cancer and Mesothelioma Immunotherapy Clinical Practice Guideline
In addition to expert panel recommendations on the use of immunotherapy for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), small cell lung cancer (SCLC), and mesothelioma, biomarker testing including PD-L1 testing and concordance, treatment selection for resectable and advanced/metastatic disease settings, treatment of underrepresented patient populations, and quality of life considerations, the mobile app version of the SITC’s lung cancer and mesothelioma CPG includes:

  • An interactive immunotherapy treatment algorithm for NSCLC
  • Interactive tools for navigating NSCLC and SCLC clinical trials and outcomes
  • Information on guideline-focused education including live and on-demand webinars

 SITC continuously evaluates the field for practice-changing data and new FDA approvals. Updates to the guidelines are made with the approval of the respective CPG Expert Panels.
