Remembering Dr. Ernest Borden
SITC honors the memory of Dr. Ernest Borden, who passed away on Jan. 18, 2026. We are deeply grateful for Dr. Borden’s enduring contributions to the field of cancer immunotherapy and his unwavering commitment to advancing science “from bench to bedside.”
A founding member of SITC, Dr. Borden served as the organization’s president from 1986 to 1988 and helped shape the Society’s early vision and lasting impact. His leadership, mentorship and dedication continue to inspire the community he helped build.
SITC extends its sincere condolences to Dr. Borden’s family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues, friends and the global cancer immunotherapy community.

Program Spotlight
CANCER IMMUNOTHERAPY WINTER SCHOOL
Cancer Immunotherapy Winter School, Feb. 16–18, 2026 in Boston, MA or virtually, offers essential IO education, the latest advancements in the field. There are ample opportunities to develop new relationships with faculty, including program organizers Kristin Anderson, PhD – University of Virginia, Chrystal Paulos, PhD – Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University, Ryan J. Sullivan, MD – Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and program advisor Daniel J. Powell Jr., PhD – University of Pennsylvania.
In addition, you will have opportunities to expand your professional network with peers, faculty and other thought leaders through small group breakout sessions.
