SITC Signs onto OVAC Letter Supporting Timely Cancer Research Funding

The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) joined more than 50 organizations through One Voice Against Cancer (OVAC) in signing a coalition letter to Congress raising concerns about delays and disruptions in federal cancer research funding. View the letter in its entirety at this LINK.
The letter, addressed to House and Senate appropriators, expresses appreciation for bipartisan support of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) while highlighting concerns about the slow pace of grant awards, reduced competing grants tied to expanded multi-year funding, and a decline in Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs). These challenges may create uncertainty for researchers and slow progress toward new cancer treatments and cures.
By signing onto this letter, SITC reaffirms its commitment to policies that support strong, stable federal investment in cancer research and ensure continued progress in cancer immunotherapy innovation.
