Volunteer Bio  

Riyue Bao is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. She serves as Co-Director of Bioinformatics at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. Before joining the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Bao was a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago and served as Associate Director of Cancer Immunology at Center for Research Informatics between 2017 and 2019. She obtained her Ph.D. in Biology with a concentration in Bioinformatics at Wayne State University in 2012. Her primary research interest focuses on the discovery of resistance mechanisms to cancer immunotherapies using a combination of genomics, spatial omics, metagenomics and computational approaches. Dr. Bao’s research bridges methodological advances and biomedical applications, with a direct impact on accelerating the knowledge discovery to new clinical trials that could benefit patients.
