ADLM 2025 Annual Meeting - Session in collaboration with SITC

When:  Jul 28, 2025 from 14:30 to 16:00 (CT)

ADLM 2025 Annual meeting

July 27-31, 2025, McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, IL

Developed in collaboration with experts from ADLM and SITC, this session examines the critical role of cytokine measurement in cancer immunotherapy from a laboratory medicine perspective. It covers the biological basis of cytokine responses, their clinical utility as biomarkers for treatment monitoring, and standardized approaches for reliable quantification in both research and patient care. The session reviews current methodologies including multiplex cytokine analysis, emphasizing analytical validation, quality control, and result interpretation in clinical contexts. Special attention is given to the laboratory's role in identifying and managing immunotherapy-related toxicities, including cytokine release syndromes associated with advanced therapies. Through evidence-based presentations and practical case discussions, participants will gain the knowledge needed to implement robust cytokine assessment protocols that enhance immunotherapy outcomes while addressing key challenges in test standardization and clinical management of cytokine storm syndromes.
