The target audience for the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer's (SITC) Advances in Cancer Immunotherapy™ (ACI) program series is patient care providers and others who wish to learn the basic principles of tumor immunology and immunotherapy, and to improve their ability to integrate immunotherapy into state-of-the-art clinical management for their patients.

This intended audience includes clinical oncologists, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, allied health professionals, other patient care providers, students and patient advocates.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the key mechanisms and terminology of tumor immunology and immunotherapy
  • Describe the role of immunity in cancer and approaches to tumor immunotherapy
  • Implement cancer immunotherapy treatments for melanoma, lung cancer and/or genitourinary cancers into clinical practice more effectively through a sound understanding of mechanisms of action, side effects and clinical management, and efficacy
  • Provide appropriate care and counsel for patients and their families
  • Provide accurate and appropriate counsel as part of the treatment team
